MARXCONTAINER

In the setting of the “Karl Marx 1818–1833” exhibition in Trier, the QuattroPole cities received containers of words produced by the Liquid Penguin artists’ collective.

On 5 May 2018, the great thinker Karl Marx would have celebrated his 200th birthday. Revolutionary, scholar, journalist or Marxist? No other character from the period is both as well known and as controversial as Marx.

  • What do you personally associate with Karl Marx?
  • In your opinion, what is a just society?
  • What pearls of wisdom do you recognise in particular?

We want to hear your answers!

In this MARXCONTAINER, the Liquid Penguin artists’ collective brought together the answers to many fascinating questions. From these audio recordings, Liquid Penguin produced audio montages, which could be heard during the event KARL MARX 1818–1883. LEBEN. WERK. ZEIT. (Karl Marx 1818–1883. Life. Work. Times.) at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Trier and at the Simeonstift municipal museum in Trier, as well as in Luxembourg, Metz and Saarbrücken from 5 May to 21 October 2018.
